In contrast to conventional tapes, kinesio tape is elastic.

It exhibits properties similar to human muscle tissue. The tape is applied directly to the area requiring treatment. It stretches and contracts without restricting freedom of movement, providing supportive relief to a weak or injured muscle. Kinesio taping provides pain relief and stimulates metabolism, helping to eliminate existing movement restrictions.

This results in improved blood circulation and enhanced lymphatic drainage. In addition, the tape regulates muscle tone (tension regulation) through reflex arcs. Depending on the application technique, the tape can either build or reduce tension. Through its contact with the skin, it also influences pain receptors, thereby providing targeted pain relief.

Indications for kinesio taping include:

Cervical spine syndrome (cervicalgia)

Carpal tunnel syndrome

Scoliosis

Lumbar spine syndrome (lumbago)

Muscle tension

Headaches

and much more

Kinesio taping refers to a therapy for sports injuries and physical impairments using kinesiology tape.
